Daytime Drama Instruction
All students receive instruction in the drama classes through out year, in specific time blocks. Student learn traditional drama skills such as pantomime, improvisation, story telling, character development, presentation, script reading and writing to name a few. Drama classes also emphasize and elaborate on grade level themes, including, language development, science, literature, history and mathematics.
Social skills development are a natural bi-product of theater education including dealing with peer pressure, making friends, perseverance, smart choices, collaboration and negotiation. Drama provides build experiences for every student to draw upon in their daily lives and decision making. Beyond the regular drama class sessions, all students participate in a grade level production. Through drama classes and performances opportunities self-esteem and confidence are built in our young people, laying a strong foundation from which healthy, independent minds can grow and succeed.

Drama Classes Schedule Overview
FALL
5th Grade - (1) classes a week for (18) weeks. 4th Grade - (1) classes a week for (18) weeks. 3rd Grade - (1) classes a week for (18) weeks. |

2nd Grade - (1) class a week for (18) weeks. 1st Grade - (1) class a week for (18) weeks. K / TK - (1) class a week for (18) weeks. |
Grade Level Productions
All students at Trace Elementary perform in a grade level production each year. Kindergarten and TK students perform a series of adaptions of classic and modern story book tales. The First Grade performance is a song and dance review, based on a grade appropriate theme. Second Grade students do a night of comedy. Third and Fourth Grade students perform in a production aligned with themes from their curriculum standards. Each Fifth Grade class produces a short film, from concept, to script writing to filming.
